A premature ending

As most of you know, I have had to come back to the UK because of the corona virus outbreak, as both the UK and Canada are locking down. I am devastated to be returning so soon, as I loved my time in Canada and was looking forward to experiencing so much more in the spring and summer there. However, there’s not much I can do at the moment but stay positive, so that’s the plan! I will keep this blog open for the remainder of the year, so if I do anything interesting or go anywhere, I’ll post about it here!

Denman Island

I took 2 ferries and 2 buses to get here (a long day of travelling) but it was definitely worth it! Exactly as I remember from my first visit 12 years ago, and definitely my favourite place on my trip so far – planning on coming back in the spring!

Gibsons, BC

After 29 straight days of rain in Vancouver (not a record apparently!), I picked the perfect day to take the ferry over to Gibsons on the ‘sunshine coast’, which has lived up to its name so far! (one day)

Sunset!

First time seeing the sun in Vancouver, the rain has been pretty torrential so far but the temperature has dropped and there could be snow on the way now!

Beautiful clear skies!!

Happy accident…

Going for a walk around the streets of Vancouver without a map, I happily stumbled into Queen Elizabeth Park and had a lovely walk through the gardens and rockeries, including cacti in the snow!

A fantastic view of the city with mountains behind to the north.
